It is the responsibility of the Project Manager to organize, supervise and coordinate the project and the onsite staff with daily communication with superintendents. On each operating project this is expected in order to complete the work on schedule, within the budget and to the quality of workmanship specified. It is also the Project Manager’s responsibility to serve as the Onyx Corporation representative on the Owner-Architect-Builder team.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Management of all aspects of assigned projects, including on-going review of site engineering plans and site layout
  • Assisting estimator with quantity takeoff, negotiation, and buyout
  • Preparing submittal packages and buyout projects
  • Preparing and Maintaining work schedule for clients
  • Material Procurement for crews
  • Complete oversight of projects. Making regular site visits to check on progress, meet with crew, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and review project costs.
  • Preparing and negotiating change orders with clients
  • Preparing pencil requisitions and reviewing with controller
  • Approving field logs for projects assigned and ensuring superintendents and/or foreman submit field logs to payroll in timely manner each pay period

Required Skills / Abilities
  • A minimum of 5 years construction industry Project Management experience is required, experience in public or private site work will be considered
  • Comfortable working in a team environment
  • Must be comfortable communicating with all levels of Management, Site Foreman, Laborers & Operators
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment operation, and current OSHA safety standards
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints and engineering specifications
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Comfortable using design, job cost, and project management software systems

Education and Experience / Licenses
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree a plus

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
